Wildflowers

We feature flowers, grasses, and ferns that are native to the Chicago region. Native plants attract beneficial insects, butterflies, and hummingbirds to your yard, so they can bring added pleasure.

Because natives evolved to suit this environment, they need less water, fertilizer, and pesticide. Native plants are perennial or self-seeding. In other words, they are easier to grow and great for the environment!

For the shady garden, we have the woodland species--the flowers that bloom in the spring before the leaves are on the trees and a wide range of ferns.

For the sunny garden, we have the prairie plants--flowers throughout the summer and grasses, sedges, and forbs for year-round interest.

Below is a list of some of the plants we've carried.
