The Garden Fair disposes of left-over stock by donating it to local nonprofit organizations. The Not-for-Profit Giveaway Coordinator is responsible for contacting not-for-profit organizations to notify them of the opportunity for obtaining donated plants, as well as developing and implementing a process to fairly disburse left-over plants. Not-for-profit organizations must bring an official document to prove their status. At the end of the Fair, the Coordinator prepares a report to document the giveaways. The Garden Fair makes donations to gardens at local schools, churches, community gardens, and even parkway gardens.
We are never able to predict how much will be left for donation. Please arrive at the sale by 2:30 of the final day in order to sign in with the Giveaway Coordinator, and be prepared to take your plants with you when you leave (there is no storage available). Plants that are left over often include small trees and shrubs, which can be quite heavy to carry.
